Ububele extends beyond the lives of our employees and the homes of our customers to the public spaces we share. Our participation in important environmental initiatives ensures that we remain conscious of our responsibility to contribute to the protection of our planet.

FOOD & TREES FOR AFRICA
FTFA is a non-profit social enterprise that has 27 years of experience in food security and environmental sustainability. With initiatives that address climate change, greening, organic farming and more, the organisation represents the country’s benchmark of innovation in urban forestry and sustainability.

TREES FOR ALL
We’ve partnered with Food & Trees for Africa (FTFA) since 2016 in support of their Trees for All programme across South Africa. This programme educates people, offsets carbon emissions and creates temporary jobs for those who are unemployed. It also transforms schools and other community centres into healthier and more sustainable environments and teaches gardening skills to community members.
Each year, in celebration of Arbour Month, our employees work with FTFA to plant one thousand fruit and indigenous trees in areas where they’re most needed.
In 2022, we reached a milestone of 10 000 trees planted, in our under-resourced schooling communities across the Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng, and Free State. We hope to see this initiative grow in unison with each school’s development.
