At Ackermans, we don’t just open stores – we become part of the communities we serve.
As we expand our Ackermans footprint, we believe it’s our responsibility to uplift and empower the people in our communities, bringing value to life in everything we do. With every new store, new jobs are created, and local people join the Ackermans family – but that’s just the beginning.
Our Ububele New Store Openings programme was created to connect with our communities in a meaningful way. This initiative empowers Phadimas in new regions to support a local non-profit organisation that holds personal significance to the community – from old age homes and shelters to soup kitchens and children’s homes. By investing in the well-being of the community, we build strong, lasting relationships with the people who welcome us into their hearts.
For example, when Ackermans opened a store in Phalaborwa, Phadimas across the region came together to support Horisani Inclusive Learning Centre, a home for children with disabilities. Beyond financial donations, our Phadimas gave their time, connecting with the children and bringing joy to their lives. This marked the beginning of a beautiful and lasting relationship between our Phadimas and the centre.
Through our regional Ububele Day activities, ongoing relief efforts, and stock donations, we continue to empower Phadimas to build relationships with NPOs and make a real difference in their communities.
As we continue opening stores across the country, we remain committed to supporting our communities and spreading kindness and generosity far and wide!
